For anyone interested - I recall some of you got into it last year - the Decorah eagle family has a new brood, live stream 24 hours a day.
For those who don't know, it's a webcam in a bald eagles' nest in Decorah, Iowa. A mom and pop are raising three more little eaglets, with plenty of drama. It's spellbinding. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't stream the Grateful Dead at the same time ...

The Mother has an extremely ominous look on her face, wouldn't want to mess with those chicks!

Two Bald eagles have recently been spotted nesting at Crystal Springs Reservoir for the first time in 100 years. Crystal Springs Reservoir is located on the peninsula 15 miles south of San Francisco along Hwy 280.

There is hope for this magnificent species.

How wonderful!

The mother is really a sweetie ... well, okay, a sweetie with murderous talons.

Hey ringo -

Thanks for the reminder. We've been watching since the first egg hatched. That first chick is certainly scrappy isn't it? He (she) was up walking around the nest out of the egg cup the other day - under momma eagle's watchful eye of course.

This year's brood seems bigger and livelier and scrappier all round - maybe the warmer weather compared to last year? There's a lot of sibling rivalry. The baby gets his head pounded into the straw regularly.

I've been watching them for a couple of weeks now. Excellent.
Here's another family that's sure to please:

wow, thanks, wasn't aware of those eagles.
We're also peeking sometimes at this mother peregrine falcon:

This pretty little bird is sitting very patiently on four enormous eggs - they're of astounding size compared to how small she is. There's not too much to see yet - apparently it's a few more weeks till these hatch.

Thanks for the reminder it's been weeks since we checked in on them. My son had to wait about 20 min to get a glimpse of the chicks today due to Momma warming them up. He was real excited and a good lesson in patience.
